ABOUT CUB SCOUTINGCub Scouting is a family and home-centered program for boys in the 1st through 5th Grades (7-10 years old), Cub Scouting's emphasis is about quality programming at the local level, where most boys and families are involved. Cub Scouting means “doing.” Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting – citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings. Cub Scouting includes a variety of fun and exciting activities for boys in the first through fifth grades. Cub Scouts Play Sports! Parents of young boys face a lot of choices in after-school activities. Boys want to have fun, while parents want them to learn positive values and skills that will last a lifetime. Generations of American men have participated in and benefited from Cub Scouting, and the experience of serving millions of participants over almost a century has enabled us to make Cub Scouting one of the most exciting and rewarding programs available to your family. As a parent, you can be assured that Cub Scouting involves a variety of family activities, encourages good behavior, teaches lifelong values and strengthens the bonds of family.
